Quick Summary

  • Rainbow Sandals advertises a lifetime guarantee on its Signature Series sandals.
  • Our firm has evidence it denies valid warranty claims even while the soles are still intact.
  • We filed a class action lawsuit in September 2023 and are looking for others affected.

Does Rainbow Sandals Really Honor Its Lifetime Guarantee?

Rainbow Sandals has long touted its Signature Series sandals as coming with the “Rainbow® Guarantee.” On its website, Rainbow Sandals announces: “The Rainbow® Guarantee is for the lifetime of the sole. The sandals will be eligible for warranty until you have worn through anywhere on the top or bottom layer of the sole.”

Lifetime guarantees are a commitment made by a manufacturer to replace or repair a product during its lifetime. In the case of the Rainbow Guarantee, this is for the lifetime of the sandals’ soles. But we have reason to believe that Rainbow Sandals’ guarantee is not really for the lifetime of the sole — our firm has seen instances where Rainbow denies warranty claims even during the lifetime of a sandal’s sole.

What Are Consumers Saying?

Rainbow Sandals’ flip-flops are not cheap — some models cost upwards of $70–$80 per pair. With prices this high, consumers expect a company to stand behind its product. Online, consumers report that Rainbow Sandals uses a “non-guarantee policy” to deny warranty claims concerning manufacturing defects, even when those claims are brought during the lifetime of the sandals’ soles.

Kneupper & Covey Filed a Class Action Against Rainbow Sandals

On September 27, 2023, Kneupper & Covey filed a lawsuit on behalf of a consumer who had purchased a pair of flip-flops from Rainbow Sandals. The lawsuit alleges that Rainbow Sandals violated state and federal warranty laws by refusing to repair or replace the consumer’s sandals during the lifetime of their soles. The consumer is seeking to bring the lawsuit as a class action on behalf of himself and other consumers who purchased Rainbow Sandals advertised as coming with the “Rainbow Guarantee.”
