Michael Garemko
Attorney
Michael has been a civil litigator since 2012, dedicating his career to fighting corporate interests and winning.
Before joining Kneupper & Covey, Michael was an Assistant Attorney General in Texas for a decade, practicing complex litigation against major pharmaceutical manufacturers for fraudulent marketing and adulteration of prescription drugs. He led an investigation in a major adulteration case that eventually settled for $41.5 million and also played a leading role in cases that recovered a combined over $250 million, including a case that achieved the largest settlement in Texas in 2018. He was awarded his division’s “Star Quality Award” for exceptional dedication and achievement. Michael also practiced administrative law, including defending administrative appeals, as a Senior Attorney in the Office of Inspector General at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
In addition to his litigation career, Michael has a long history of legislative work, serving in senior staff roles for members of the Texas House of Representatives during four legislative sessions. He has continued applying his detailed knowledge of legislative process and procedure in his legal practice.
Michael graduated with a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was editor in chief of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, and published a journal note on payday lending regulation. He also holds a B.A. magna cum laude and M.A. in history from Emory University.
When not practicing law, Michael enjoys reading, playing electric guitar, and spending time with his family.
